This is a list of books we like (and a little about why):
- The Principles of Knitting
- This book has everything, and I mean everything. I can't bring it with me but it does have an easily accessible place in my home. It is my go to reference for when ever I have a question or am curious about a technique. (A knitters library must have).
- The Knitters Book of Yarn
- First of all I love Clara Parkes, even this book reads like a story. Second of all what knitter doesn't want to know and understand how best to use different yarns/fibers for their knitting. (This is another must have)!
- Teach Yourself Visually: Handspinning
- This is one of the many books recommended on older episodes of the KnitPicks podcast (before it became an extended commercial for their products). I really like this book, best book ever? No. Full of information and a good resource to have my library? Absolutely! One thing I really like about this book is that it covers techniques for both drop-spinning and wheel (e.g. In regards to cable spinning it covers both: cable spinning on a hand spindle AND cable spinning on a wheel).
