These are for my dear friend Nina, who lives in Madison WI for another month before she leaves for her new life in France. I haven't started knitting them but I have the yarn all wound up into balls. I'd better get started soon, as I'd like to ship them out to her before she leaves the continent.

Yet Nameless by me :)

I'm really excited about these fingerless mitts. The wool is from Orchard View Lincolns, Bergen NY. Emma raises Lincoln sheep.  These sheep produce beautiful long wool locks, if spun lightly the resulting yarn,  is perfect for outer garment items that have a beautiful halo. These mitts are my own design, and I must admit I am in love!!!! (Name ideas are welcome).

I'm now working out the right hand...




Off My Needles


Print O' the Wave Stole by Eunny Jang


I finally finished this stole!!! It took quite a bit of time, it was one of those 'on again - off again' projects and then I ran out of yarn (Juniper Moon Findley). Good thing I had the lot and color number. The stole is now in the possession of my sister, who I knitted it for as a Christmas gift.






I love always having socks on my needles. They literally 'live with me' & go wherever I go. I take them out at a cafe, when I'm walking, when I'm waiting or need a break for a few minutes. This way I am quickly building up my (and my husbands) sock collection. At this point I don't use a pattern as much as a recipe. (Short row toe, heel flap & gusset and whatever pattern I like) This changes depending on the yarn (striping yarn means afterthought heel). These socks I finished on Christmas day and gave them promptly to my husband.

I knit these mittens for my nephew usingWest Creek Family Farms Alpaca Merino blend. I have never knit with a more delicious feeling yarn!!!! It resulted in a beautifully squishy and warm pair of little mittens (thankfully there is more left for a 2nd pair).








Events:

For the month of December LocalFiber hosted a pop-up shop at Sew Green Ithaca. It was above and beyond our expectations. Every weekend we hosted demonstrations & presentations, from spinning to the Campaign for Wool. Nine Finger Lakes fiber farmers took part in the pop-up, including:
